New LEGO® Architecture website

Secret model in the LEGO Architecture series

Fans of LEGO® Architecture will be certain to enjoy the new LEGO® Architecture website that’s just been launched at architecture.lego.com.

As well as features on LEGO Architectural Artist, Adam Reed Tucker, the website includes articles on the history of the Architecture and the LEGO® brick; revealing that series we know today actually has it roots in the LEGO ‘Scale Model’ line launched in 1962.

There’s also more in-depth information on all the individual products in the current LEGO® Architecture series, including stories about the design and construction process, plus the challenges faced by the LEGO Architectural Artist when trying to create the building in LEGO elements.

A new feature is the possibility to nominate and vote on potential LEGO Architecture products of the future. In the ‘Inspire & Vote’ section, LEGO® Architecture fans will be encouraged to suggest buildings and structures from around the world that they feel have the architectural merit to become possible models in the LEGO® Architecture series.

As Daiva Staneikaite Naldal, the LEGO® Architecture Development Manager, says: “It’s going to be really interesting to see what buildings are nominated. Unfortunately, we cannot promise that the most popular choices will always become LEGO® Architecture products. There are a lot of practical issues involved: Can it be built with LEGO bricks? Will the owners of the landmarks allow us to do it? But we promise we’ll look at all the suggestions we get  seriously.”
